Greek Nut Pie


cooking oil for baking

light sesame for dressing

For filling:

hazelnut – 300 g

Almond – 300 g

walnuts – 300 g

liquid honey – 0.5 cup

For syrup:

coconut  sugar– 1 cup

honey – 1 cup

lemon juice – 2 tbsp. 

For the dough:

whole wheat flour – 500 g

salt – 1 tsp.

olive oil – 4 tbsp.

1. Prepare the dough. Sift flour with salt, add olive oil, lemon juice, and 200 ml of water. Then knead the soft elastic dough. Put it in a bowl, cover with a towel and leave for 30 minutes.

 2. Fry all the nuts in a dry heated pan, stirring constantly, 5 min. Chop with a knife into a large crumb.

 3. Put the nuts in a bowl, add honey, and mix.

 4. Divide the dough into 3 equal parts. Roll the first part into a large thin circle, place it on a greased baking sheet.

 5. Put on the circle half of the filling. Roll out the next part of the dough in a circle of the same size and put it on top of the nuts. Distribute the remaining filling over it. Roll out the last lap and cover them with a pie. Pinch the edges. Slightly moisten the surface with water and sprinkle with sesame.

 6. Make cuts with a sharp knife on the cake, as shown in the picture. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 ° C until dark golden brown, 35–40 min. For the syrup, mix in a saucepan, sugar, honey, and lemon juice. Cook for 5 minutes. Pour over the cake and let cool.
