5 basic rules of baked apples + 4 simple recipes

How to bake apples in order to preserve their useful properties and get a delicious delicacy?

Apples baked in the oven with various fillings – a traditional autumn dessert. In addition, apples are very useful for the body, and in baked form, they become even more useful because they are absorbed much better by the body.

Rule 1. Choose the “right” apples.

They should be of medium or large size, not wormy, preferably sweet. If you have only sour on hand, they should be sweetened properly, because when baking, sour apples will become even more sour.

Rule 2. Tasty stuffing.

The classic ingredients for this dish are honey, cinnamon, nuts and cottage cheese. Honey will need quite a bit – a teaspoon of an apple. Cinnamon can be mixed with sweetener.

Rule 3. Processing apples.

First they must be rinsed under running water. Apples from the store must be washed with detergent and a sponge to wash off the wax, which is processed apples for long-term storage.

Rule 4. Preparing apples for baking.

To begin with, let’s define how we bake apples. If baked whole, then just cut off the top and sprinkle with a small amount of sugar mixed with cinnamon. You can do the same with halves of apples. But if we stuff the apples, first carefully cut out the middle part, and then with the help of a spoon we remove the apple flesh. If the apples are baked in dough, then we cut out the middle part, peel the skin and sprinkle it with lemon juice so that the apples do not darken quickly.

Rule 5. The temperature and time of roasting.

If the oven is heated too much, the apples may burst, if on the contrary, they will not bake. Therefore, we choose the optimal temperature – 180 degrees. With the help of a toothpick make a few generations in the peel of apples.

Bake the apples in the oven for about twenty minutes. Although the cooking time can vary. It all depends on who likes what more. Many prefer apples to crunch slightly. Then they need to be baked not too long. For those who, on the contrary, love when they fall apart, you need to bake a little longer, wait until the peel starts to burst on the apples.

Apples with a puff pastry cap

We will need:

Apple – 2 pcs.

Puff pastry packaging

Boiled condensed milk

Nuts – 50 g

Egg – 1 pc.

Stevia or other sweetener (you can use sugar 3 tbsp)

Cinnamon – 1 tsp.

My apples. Cut off the tip and remove the core, remove the pulp with a spoon. Whisk the egg, mix the stevia with the cinnamon, chop the nuts a little in a blender.

Now let’s do the test. Layer puff pastry roll out, cut into strips approximately the size of 5 x 1 cm. We need about 8 such strips per apple.

We lay out 4 strips and with the help of 4 more strips we make a braid.

Mixed condensed milk with nuts and stuffed with a mixture of apples. From a woven dough with a glass, cut a circle approximately the size of an apple and cover them with apples.

We put the apples in a baking dish, grease the dough with a beaten egg and sprinkle with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.

We preheat the oven to 180 degrees and send the apples to bake for about 30 minutes.

Baked apples with nuts and spices

We will need:

Apple – 2 pcs.

Water – 2 tbsp.

Sweetener (stevia)

Butter – 2 tbsp.

Flour – 1 tbsp.

Nutmeg – 1/4 tsp.

Nuts – 100 g

Salt – 1 pinch

Prepare the filling. Mix flour, dry sweetener (stevia) , nutmeg, salt, cinnamon. Measure out the required amount of water and butter. Grind the nuts in a blender.

The apples, cut the top, with it, if desired, you can cover the filling and bake together. Using a spoon, remove the extra pulp from the apple, the base for roasting is ready.

We put dry stuffing in apples, pour in a tablespoon of water there and top with a cube of butter. Lubricate the bottom of the form with butter and sprinkle with the remains of a dry filling.

Put the apples in the form and send in the oven for 30 minutes at a temperature of 180 degrees

Apples with curd and dried fruits

We will need:

Apples – 2 pcs.

Cottage cheese – 200 g

Egg – 1 pc.

Raisin – 4 tbsp.

Sweetener, cinnamon, vanilla extract – to taste

My apples, cut the top and remove first the core, then the flesh. Cottage cheese fray with sweetener, vanilla extract and yolk. Add the raisins and mix well. Putting stuffing in the apples. Grease the form with butter, sprinkle with cinnamon and lay out stuffed apples.

We send baked in the oven for 30 minutes. Served with sour cream or vanilla ice cream.

Apples with a fitness stuffing

We will need:

Apples – 2 pcs.

Oatmeal – 150 g

Nuts – 3 tbsp.

Dried apricots – 6 pcs.

Honey – 2 tbsp.

Ginger – 1 tsp.

Greek yogurt

Nuts, dried apricots and ginger chop and mix. Honey mix with oatmeal, add dried fruits.

We take out the middle of apples and stuff with oatmeal stuffing. Using a wooden toothpick, we prick the sides of the apples so that the skin does not burst. We spread the apples in the form, pour water into it at a third of the height of the apples.

We send the form to the preheated oven to 180 degrees for 40 minutes.

Before serving, you can pour baked apples with Greek yogurt.
