Twix Sweets

In addition to the popular coconut candy or basic candy from a mixture of dried fruit and nuts, there are all sorts of multi-layered sweets. On the basis of the same recipe, you can get sweets, candy bars, and mini-cakes – it all depends on the thickness of the layers and the size of the pieces into which the billet is cut.

For cookies:

½ cup coconut flour

½ cup almond flour

60 ml maple syrup

a pinch of salt

1-2 tbsp. melted coconut oil (optional)

For caramel:

6–8 pitted dates

¼ cup of peanut butter

3 tbsp. water

a pinch of salt

2 tbsp. coconut oil

For glaze:

80 ml melted coconut oil

¼ cup of cocoa powder

60 ml maple syrup

1 tsp vanilla extract

  1. Cover the mold with baking paper or cling film – it is better to choose a rectangular shape. Mix all the ingredients for cookies: the mixture should be crumbly, slightly moist and keep the shape. If it is not wet enough, add more coconut oil or water. Put the mass into the mold and put it in the freezer. Soak the dates in warm water for 10 minutes. Mix all the ingredients for caramel using water from dates. Spread the mixture evenly on a layer of biscuits and put in the freezer for a couple of hours until fully cured.

2. For the glaze, mix all the ingredients until smooth. Remove the blank from the freezer compartment, cut it into pieces of the required size, cover it with icing, and put it in the freezer to freeze it. Store in the freezer.
